My husband brought frozen mackerel weighing about a kilogram and asked me to cook something from it. I’ve never even seen fish like this before, well, except for small dried snacks. On the website I found a recipe for mackerel baked in the oven. It is proposed to cut a large carcass along the back. I did just that, and removed the tail and fins. I just couldn’t cut the head, so I just removed it. I laid out the horse mackerel carcass like a book, washed it well from the blood and dried it. Placed it skin side down on a sheet of foil greased with vegetable oil. Lightly grease the top with the same oil, sprinkle with lemon juice, sprinkle with salt and fish seasoning. I cut the onion into half rings and sprinkled it on top of the fish. Bake for 40 minutes at 200°. During this time, the horse mackerel was completely baked. The meat of this sea fish turned out juicy and spicy thanks to spices, onions and butter. It's unusual for me, but delicious! My husband is absolutely delighted! Homemade pickles and boiled rice went well as a side dish.
