  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake grandma's pie with jam? First, prepare all the necessary ingredients. Remove the butter from the refrigerator in advance. Use any thick jam. You can also take jam or even pieces of fruit or berries. Turn on the oven at 200 degrees in advance.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Sift the flour into a bowl, add sugar and baking powder, add a pinch of salt, and stir.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add softened butter cut into pieces. Cut it with a knife along with the dry ingredients.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Rub the butter mixture with your hands to form crumbs.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Add the eggs, mix, gather everything into a ball and knead the dough. At first it will seem impossible, but gradually everything will come together into a single ball. If necessary (it depends on the flour, the size of the eggs - I have a small egg and the yolk is half the size), pour in 1-2 tablespoons of cold water.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Place the resulting dough in a plastic bag for 10 minutes so that it softens slightly and all the components are better combined with each other.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Divide the dough into two unequal parts. Place the smaller part in the freezer for 15-20 minutes, and spread the larger part over the bottom of the baking dish with your fingers. Make small sides. Pour in thick jam or marmalade. I used plum jam.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Remove the second piece of dough from the freezer and grate it onto the surface of the pie using a coarse grater.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Cover the entire surface of the pie with grated dough and place it in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Keep an eye on the browning of the dough so that the pie does not burn.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Take the finished pie out, place it on a dish, let cool slightly and cut into portions. Serve with tea. Bon appetit!

I made my grandmother’s pie with jam for dessert for tea for my family. I used homemade apricot jam. Instead of butter, I used butter margarine for the dough. The dough was easy to knead. First I made the crumbs with my hands. I beat homemade eggs and kneaded the dough. I put it in the refrigerator for a while. Then I put most of the dough into the mold, spread it with jam and rubbed the remaining dough on top. I baked the pie in the oven at 180 degrees for 25 minutes. Sprinkle the cooled grated pie with powdered sugar. Great recipe! You can cook it every day with different fillings. The pie went off with a bang. This recipe made very tasty dough. It is crumbly, tender and soft. I will cook again and recommend it to everyone! Many thanks to the author 😊
