STEP 1
How to make fried tofu cheese? Prepare your food. Instead of starch, you can use another breading - flour, wheat or corn, breadcrumbs.
STEP 2
Cut the cheese into small pieces, one or two bites. Don't make them too thin, as the cheese will dry out a little when frying. A thickness of 7-10mm is best. Place the cut pieces on a paper towel to absorb excess moisture.
STEP 3
Place the breading on a flat plate. Roll each piece of cheese in starch (flour, breadcrumbs) on all sides.
STEP 4
Heat a frying pan over medium heat, pour vegetable oil into it for frying. Place breaded cheese pieces into heated oil. Place the cheese in one layer; if part does not fit, fry it a second time. STEP 5
Fry the cheese on one side until golden brown, then turn it over to the other. Fry it until golden brown. Remove the fried pieces to a plate. Add a little more oil to the pan and add the next batch of cheese. Fry it on both sides as well.
STEP 6
While the cheese is frying, prepare the sauce. To do this, mix soy sauce and honey in a bowl. Pass the garlic through a press (or grate it). You can reduce or increase the amount of garlic depending on your preferences. Stir.
STEP 7
Return all the fried cheese to the pan. Carefully (it will sizzle) pour in all the sauce. You can add salt and season the cheese with spices, only taking into account that the sauce already contains salt. Stir the cheese into the sauce and simmer over low heat for about 5 minutes. Then serve the fried tofu cheese to the table.
STEP 8
When serving, you can sprinkle the dish with sesame seeds. Bon appetit!
