STEP 1

How to make French fries in egg and paprika batter in the oven? Prepare your ingredients. We will need 4 large potatoes or 5-6 medium-small ones.
STEP 2

Using a brush, thoroughly wash the potato tubers under running water. Peel and rinse again. Cut the potatoes into cubes about 1 centimeter thick, rinse to remove starch and dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Transfer potato wedges to a bowl.
STEP 3

In a small container, whisk the egg, add ground paprika or turmeric and stir. You can add any spices you like, for example, ready-made potato spices. In this case, be sure to read the ingredients. If there is already salt in the mixture, take this into account when you salt the potatoes, otherwise you risk over-salting.
STEP 4

Paprika or turmeric is added not only for taste, but also to give a more appetizing color to the potatoes.
STEP 5

Pour the egg mixture over the potatoes and mix everything thoroughly with your hands, so that the mixture envelops each block. Add some salt.
STEP 6

10-20 minutes before the start of cooking, turn on the oven and preheat it to 200 degrees. Place the potato wedges on the grill. Bake for 20 minutes. If you don't have a wire rack, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the potatoes in a single layer. But when baking on a baking sheet, the potatoes will need to be turned over so that a crust forms on all sides.
STEP 7

The finished potatoes will have a golden brown crust on top and soft inside. Serve it hot with tomato or any other sauce of your choice. French fries can also be served with various vegetable salads, as a separate dish or as a side dish for meat. Bon appetit!
