STEP 1
How to make French fish in the oven? To prepare the fish, prepare the necessary ingredients. You can use any boneless fish fillet. I will cook with pangasius. If the fish has been frozen, it must be thawed at room temperature. There is no need to use hot water for defrosting. This will make the fish lose its taste. Wash the tomatoes. Peel the onion and rinse in cold water.
STEP 2
Pat the fish fillet dry with a paper towel. to remove excess moisture from it. Cut the fish into portions.
STEP 3
Finely chop the peeled onion.
STEP 4
Prepare a baking dish. It can be metal, ceramic or glass. Grease the bottom of the mold with a small amount of vegetable oil and spread the chopped onion over the entire surface.
STEP 5
Then add the chopped fish. Sprinkle each piece of fish with a little salt and spice. For fish, I usually use a ready-made set of spices.
STEP 6
Grease each piece of fish with a small amount of mayonnaise. Why is mayonnaise necessary? It will add juiciness to the finished dish. If you have a negative attitude towards mayonnaise, then you can replace it with sour cream or yogurt.
STEP 7
Cut the tomatoes into slices and place on the fish.
STEP 8
Place the last layer of cheese, grated on a coarse or medium grater. Place the dish with the fish in the oven, preheated to 200 degrees, for 25-30 minutes. Be guided by your oven.
STEP 9
The fish cooks quite quickly. During cooking, the cheese will melt and become golden in color. Remove the finished fish from the oven and place on plates.
