Flounder in flour in a frying pan
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to fry flounder in flour in a frying pan? Prepare the necessary ingredients. You can take any spices you want. Coriander, thyme, nutmeg, and ground black pepper are suitable for fried fish.
STEP 2
If you have frozen fish, you need to defrost it before cooking. You can do this at room temperature or by leaving the fish in the refrigerator overnight. Wash the defrosted fish, cut off the fins and tail with a sharp knife or scissors. Scrape the scales from the light side of the fish from the tail to the head.
STEP 3
Cut off the head and remove all the entrails. Rinse the inside of the carcass well.
STEP 4
It is believed that the dark skin of flounder has a specific smell, so it is recommended to remove it. To do this, make a shallow cut at the tail, pick up the skin and, using a knife, carefully remove it towards the head. After this, rinse the fish under cold water and dry. This procedure can be replaced by marinating the fish for 2 hours in a mixture of 1 tsp. mustard and 3 tbsp. l. lemon juice. This will help remove any possible unpleasant odors.
STEP 5
Cut the carcass into portions. If the fish is small, you can leave it whole.
STEP 6
Pour lemon juice over the prepared flounder and mix gently. Leave the fish to marinate for 15 minutes. Lemon juice will give it a pleasant slight sourness.
STEP 7
In a bowl or deep plate, mix flour with salt and spices.
STEP 8
Bread each piece of fish on both sides in the flour mixture.
STEP 9
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Place fish pieces on it and fry them over medium heat until golden brown for 7-8 minutes. Do not cover the pan with a lid.
STEP 10
Turn the fish over to the other side and fry over low heat until cooked through. Serve the fried flounder hot with a side dish of potatoes, cereals or stewed vegetables. Bon appetit!
