Flatbread with cheese in a frying pan
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to fry tortillas with cheese and herbs in a frying pan? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Place sugar, salt, and dry yeast in a deep bowl. How to choose the right yeast and how to work with it, read the article at the end of this recipe.
STEP 2
Pour a glass of warm (not scalding) water into a bowl. It is important not to overheat the water, otherwise the yeast will lose its properties necessary for rising the dough. Mix everything thoroughly so that the bulk ingredients dissolve.
STEP 3
Pour in vegetable oil and stir again.
STEP 4
Add sifted wheat flour in small portions. This step is very important for making a successful, tasty dough. When sifting flour, not only foreign impurities and objects are removed, but the flour itself is saturated with oxygen, which in turn makes the dough fluffy and rich.
STEP 5
Start kneading the dough, first in a bowl with a spoon. When the dough becomes thick and dense, place it on a floured work surface and continue kneading with your hands. Remember that you may need a little less or more dough, rely on the consistency of the dough. Read about the properties of flour in the link at the end of the recipe.
STEP 6
The dough should be elastic, smooth and slightly sticky to your hands. Place the dough back into the bowl and place in a warm place for half an hour, covering the top with a towel or covering with cling film.
STEP 7
While the dough is resting, grate the cheese.
STEP 8
Wash fresh herbs, dry and chop finely. You can use only dill greens or a mixture of dill, parsley and cilantro, or no greens at all, but they add a special flavor to the flatbreads. Mix cheese with herbs. The filling is ready.
STEP 9
Punch down the risen dough and immediately proceed to preparing the flatbreads. Divide the dough into the desired number of pieces, depending on the size of the pan in which the flatbreads will be fried. I divided it into 6 parts. Roll out each ball of dough into a thin flat cake.
STEP 10
Place some cheese and herbs in the center of the flatbread.
STEP 11
Pinch the edges of the dough towards the center like a bag.
STEP 12
Turn the cake over and gently roll it out again with a rolling pin so that the dough does not tear.
STEP 13
Heat a dry frying pan, reduce the heat to medium and fry all the flatbreads one at a time for 3-4 minutes on each side until lightly browned. You will learn how to choose a frying pan by reading the article at the end of the recipe. Immediately grease the finished flatbreads on both sides with a piece of butter. Bon appetit!
