  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make fish pie filling? Prepare your food. Take any minced fish: you can use ready-made ones, like mine - minced fish from the cod family, or you can grind the fillets of any fish yourself. Boil the eggs first and cool. Wash and dry the greens.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Defrost the minced fish, pour in lemon juice, salt and pepper to taste. The juice in this case will give the filling a light aroma and eliminate the strong fishy smell. In addition to pepper, you can add any spices.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Mix the minced meat well so that it is evenly salted and soaked in lemon juice.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Finely chop the peeled onion and add it to the minced meat. Alternatively, you can grate the onion, then the filling will be more uniform.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Finely chop fresh dill (or any other herbs) and add to the minced fish.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Grind hard-boiled eggs in any way - using an egg slicer, a knife, a grater, or simply crush them in a bowl with a fork. Also add chopped eggs to the pie filling.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Knead the filling well until smooth. You can cook fish pie, pies with it, you can even stuff pancakes with this minced meat, then bake them in the oven. Bon appetit!

I was looking for a recipe for filling for pies and decided to make “Filling for fish pie.” My fish is salmon trimmings. I didn’t defrost it, but cut thin slices with a sharp knife. Sprinkled with lemon juice and added salt. The onion was first lightly sautéed until translucent, because... This way the taste becomes softer and the bitterness disappears. And I don’t really like it when the onion crunches in the filling. I didn’t add greens because children don’t like it. I boiled the eggs in salted water for 7 minutes and then placed them in cold water to make it easier to peel them. I added a little ground black pepper and oregano. I used the filling for pies fried and baked in the oven. It turned out tasty, juicy and, thanks to the lemon juice, the taste of the fish is not so pronounced. Hearty, wonderful filling, everyone is delighted, even the children! Thank you!
