- STEP 1 - How to make shaped shortbread cookies for children in the oven? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Remove the butter from the refrigerator in advance so that it is at room temperature and easier to mash. In a bowl, combine the butter and sugar and grind until the sugar is completely dissolved. - STEP 2 - Beat one chicken egg into the resulting mass. Stir. To make the process quicker and easier, you can use a mixer. 
- STEP 3 - Sift the flour through a sieve and mix with a pinch of soda. Add flour into the butter mixture little by little and knead into a stiff dough. Do not knead the dough for a long time, otherwise the cookies will be hard. 
- STEP 4 - Wrap the dough in film and put it in the refrigerator for an hour. This will make the dough easier to work with and the finished cookies will be more tender. 
- STEP 5 - Then roll it out into a layer about a centimeter thick and cut out the cookies using cookie cutters. Please note that the thinner the dough, the harder the cookies will be. For me, about 1 centimeter thick is optimal - this way the cookies turn out soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. 
- STEP 6 - Place it on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 25 minutes. - STEP 7 - The finished cookies should be browned. Serve homemade shaped shortbread cookies with hot tea. Children enjoy eating it with hot or cold milk. Enjoy your tea!
