STEP 1
How to make mashed potatoes with milk and butter? Prepare your food. Potatoes are better suited to varieties that contain a lot of starch - they boil better. Milk is suitable for any fat content; its amount may vary depending on the potatoes and the desired consistency of the mashed potatoes. Choose tasty, high-quality, natural butter and cheese.
STEP 2
Wash the potatoes well with a brush under running water, then peel them with a vegetable peeler - it removes the thinnest layer of peel. Then rinse the tubers and place them in a large saucepan. If the potatoes are large, then cut them into 3-4 parts, leave the small ones as is. Boil clean water in a kettle and pour it over the potatoes. This way you will reduce the cooking time.
STEP 3
Place the pan over medium heat and cover with a lid. After the water boils, skim off the foam and add salt. Cook the potatoes for 25-30 minutes, depending on the variety. Check readiness with a knife - the blade should easily pierce the pieces.
STEP 4
At the same time, heat the milk until almost boiling.
STEP 5
And grate the cheese on a medium grater.
STEP 6
Drain the water from the finished potatoes, then mash them well with a potato masher. Pour the cheese into the pan and add the butter. Once again, remember the puree well.
STEP 7
Start pouring hot milk in portions, stirring the puree with a spoon. Achieve the consistency you like. You can make the puree thicker or thinner. Taste it for salt and add if necessary.
STEP 8
Serve the puree to the table, we ate it with cutlets. This was the most delicious puree I have ever made. Bon appetit!
