  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make mashed potatoes with milk and butter? Prepare your food. Potatoes are better suited to varieties that contain a lot of starch - they boil better. Milk is suitable for any fat content; its amount may vary depending on the potatoes and the desired consistency of the mashed potatoes. Choose tasty, high-quality, natural butter and cheese.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Wash the potatoes well with a brush under running water, then peel them with a vegetable peeler - it removes the thinnest layer of peel. Then rinse the tubers and place them in a large saucepan. If the potatoes are large, then cut them into 3-4 parts, leave the small ones as is. Boil clean water in a kettle and pour it over the potatoes. This way you will reduce the cooking time.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Place the pan over medium heat and cover with a lid. After the water boils, skim off the foam and add salt. Cook the potatoes for 25-30 minutes, depending on the variety. Check readiness with a knife - the blade should easily pierce the pieces.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

At the same time, heat the milk until almost boiling.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

And grate the cheese on a medium grater.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Drain the water from the finished potatoes, then mash them well with a potato masher. Pour the cheese into the pan and add the butter. Once again, remember the puree well.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Start pouring hot milk in portions, stirring the puree with a spoon. Achieve the consistency you like. You can make the puree thicker or thinner. Taste it for salt and add if necessary.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Serve the puree to the table, we ate it with cutlets. This was the most delicious puree I have ever made. Bon appetit!

My first experience of making mashed potatoes with milk. It turned out to be so delicious! The potatoes turned out amazing, aromatic, airy, with a spicy taste. A hearty dish, just right for the cold season. It just begs to be paired with a juicy steak and a glass of red wine. Try cooking new dishes, they can be unexpectedly delicious!

For a side dish I prepared crushed potatoes with milk. I boiled the peeled potatoes until soft in salted water, drained the broth, mashed the potatoes with a masher, added butter and grated cheese (I used creamy, sharper and more piquant cheese I did not use, I was afraid of the specific cheese taste in the puree), continuing to thoroughly mash the potatoes, poured in Add hot boiled milk little by little until you reach the desired consistency. The puree turned out tender, creamy, very tasty! The perfect side dish! Thanks for the recipe, katushafin!

What a soft fluffy puree, I’m sure it will melt in your mouth! An excellent option with the addition of grated cheese, I’ve never done this, I definitely need to try it, but does the cheese taste good? Thank you very much for the recipe!
