  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to cook crumbly wheat porridge in water in a saucepan? Very simple! First, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. In Russia, you can find two types of wheat cereal on sale: the larger “Poltavskaya” for side dishes and soups and “Artek” for preparing porridges. We need Artek cereal.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Sort the wheat grits and rinse thoroughly until the water is clear. You can cook the porridge not only in water, but also in milk.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Place washed wheat flour in a saucepan. Fill it with cold drinking water.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Place the pan over medium heat and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low (I have a setting of 2-3 out of 9) and cook, skimming off the foam, for about 20 minutes.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

When foam stops forming, add salt and stir. Cook the porridge with the lid slightly open until cooked. Even if after the cooking time there is some water left in the pan, it will then be absorbed into the cereal and into the towel.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Remove the finished porridge from the heat. Cover the pan with a towel and place a lid on top. This is necessary so that excess moisture is absorbed into the towel and the porridge turns out crumbly. Leave the porridge for 10 minutes.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Place the finished wheat porridge on plates and serve, adding a piece of butter to each. If you wish, you can supplement the porridge with various fruits and berries. Bon appetit!

I saw a recipe for crumbly wheat porridge with water in a saucepan, which looked so appetizing that I immediately wanted to try it. I cooked the porridge in water, didn’t skimp on the butter, put in more to make it tastier. I also added milk and honey to the children’s plates separately. I sprinkled with raisins before serving to make it more interesting to eat :) Thank you very much for the recipe!
