  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make cottage cheese donuts in the oven? To begin, prepare all the necessary ingredients according to the list. Take the highest grade flour. You can replace vanilla sugar with a pinch of vanillin or 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

In a bowl, combine egg, sugar, vanilla sugar, salt and vegetable oil. Mix with a whisk until smooth.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add sour cream and stir. Sour cream is suitable with a fat content of 15-25%.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Then add the cottage cheese and stir again. If necessary, rub the cottage cheese through a sieve or punch it with a blender. There should be no lumps or hard grains left in the cottage cheese. The fattier and softer the cottage cheese, the tastier the donuts will be. Cottage cheese in briquettes is also suitable. It does not need additional preparation.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Pour 2 tbsp into the dough. l. flour and baking powder. Mix everything well. Add the remaining flour little by little.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Using your hands, knead into a smooth, soft, homogeneous, non-sticky dough. Please note that you may need more or less flour depending on the moisture content of the cottage cheese and the size of the egg. Therefore, focus on the consistency of the dough.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Roll out the dough and divide into 12 equal parts. Form each piece of dough into a ball.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Cut out the center of each dough piece. It is convenient to do this with a pastry cutter dusted with flour.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

To lubricate the preparations you will need warm milk.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Place donuts on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Lightly brush the pieces with warm milk. Place the baking sheet in an oven preheated to 180°C for 20-25 minutes.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Cool the finished donuts and sprinkle with powdered sugar. If the bottom of the donut holes has grown together, you can optionally fill the middle with jam or preserves. I didn’t fill it with anything, since my donuts retained their original shape, they just increased in size during baking. Bon appetit!

I made cottage cheese donuts in the oven. I kneaded the dough according to the recipe. The cottage cheese was first punched with an immersion blender. Instead of baking powder, I used slaked soda with cherry plum vinegar. The dough turned out soft, pliable, pleasant to work with. I made holes in the dough with a children's toy pipe. First I washed it, dried it and dipped it in flour before making a hole. And everything seemed to be going well and the donuts looked like donuts. But then the time came for baking, as a result of which the dough did not behave quite as I expected. It rose quite a lot and it was even difficult to guess the holes on some of the resulting buns. The result of baking was buns. They taste wonderful, they are wonderful for tea or just like that. Despite the difference between expectations and results, I am happy with how it turned out. Thanks to the author for the recipe!
