  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to cook corn porridge in a slow cooker using water? Prepare your food. Take high-quality cereals, without debris, finely ground - they will boil faster and taste better. You can change the amount of water depending on what kind of porridge you want - thin or thicker. If you use vegetable oil instead of butter, the dish will turn out lean.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Pour the cereal into a ladle and rinse well under running cool water. Some housewives do not wash corn grits, but in vain - not only dust and dirt are washed away, but also small pieces of the corn grain shell, which give the porridge its hardness. Wash the cereal several times until the water runs clear.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Pour the cereal into the multicooker bowl. Pour water into it. If you pour water in a ratio of 1:3 (1 part corn grits to 3 parts water), the porridge will turn out thick and viscous. If the ratio is 1:4, then the porridge will come out liquid. I cooked a more liquid version. Add sugar and salt. You can also change their quantity to your liking.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Place the bowl in the multicooker. Close the lid. Set the cooking mode in which you usually cook cereals and porridges. It may be called differently on different devices. On mine there are two options - Buckwheat and Milk porridge, I chose Milk porridge, since it takes 1 hour to cook - the corn will boil better during this time. The Extinguishing mode is also suitable, set the time to 1 hour. Cook the porridge until the end signal.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

After the signal, open the lid and add butter to the porridge. Stir. If the porridge is a little runny, leave it to stand under the lid in the heating mode for some more time - it will thicken. Then serve the porridge to the table. Bon appetit!

I decided to make healthy corn porridge and I liked the recipe “corn porridge in a slow cooker with water” for its ease of preparation. I placed all the ingredients in the multicooker bowl and cooked the porridge in the multicooker in the “porridge” mode for 20 minutes. I used finely ground corn grits because I was cooking for a child. But we don’t like grains) I added a teaspoon of granulated sugar on my own. After cooking, the porridge must be stirred in the multicooker bowl using a special multicooker spoon so as not to scratch the container. Good recipe! I quickly made porridge from corn grits using a slow cooker. The products available to everyone make an excellent, healthy and satisfying breakfast. The consistency of the porridge was homogeneous, medium thick, similar to semolina. Porridge with water is also very tasty than milk porridge. The corn porridge in the slow cooker turned out to be tender, aromatic and very appetizing. A very simple and quick recipe, you don’t need to stand near the stove and stir the porridge so it doesn’t burn. A decent and budget option for corn porridge! Thank you!

You can cook it without salt and without sugar, and after cooking, throw in the cheese, cut into small cubes or strips. And let it sit in heating mode for 10-15 minutes so that the cheese melts. Stir - the hominy is ready!
