Compote of apples and plums
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make apple and plum compote for the winter? Prepare the necessary ingredients. You can change the quantity and ratio of fruits to your taste. You can take more plums, or you can add plums and apples in equal proportions. For two liter jars you will need a glass of sugar. The compote will turn out to be a little concentrated and in winter, when consumed, it will need to be diluted a little with boiled water.
STEP 2
First, let's start sterilizing the jars and lids. Wash the jars in running water and soda. Also wash the lids in running water, place them in a pan and fill them with water.
STEP 3
Place a ring for sterilizing jars on top and place the jar on it. Place the pan on the fire and sterilize each jar after boiling water for 5-7 minutes. At the same time as the jars, the lids are also sterilized. If you wish, you can use another sterilization method convenient for you, for example, in the microwave or oven.
STEP 4
Wash the plums and apples well in running water. For compote, choose only whole, unspoiled fruits. Let the water drain, and in the meantime, place a pot of water on the stove to bring the water to a boil.
STEP 5
Cut the plums in half and remove the pits.
STEP 6
Cut the apples in half, remove the stem and center, and then cut into slices.
STEP 7
Place plums and apples in prepared clean jars in layers.
STEP 8
When the water boils, pour it into the jars up to the neck. Cover with lids and leave to cool.
STEP 9
When the future compote has cooled down so that you can hold the jar with your hands without getting burned, pour the compote water into the pan and bring to a boil again. Pour boiling water over the fruit. In this way, the fruits themselves are sterilized and the finished compote will last a long time.
STEP 10
Fill this way only three times. For the third time, pour sugar into the compote poured into the pan and boil until the sugar is completely dissolved.
STEP 11
Pour the resulting syrup over the plums and apples and screw the lids on the jars.
STEP 12
Turn the jars of compote upside down and wrap until completely cool. The next day, put the jars in a cool, dark place and leave until winter. Compote of fresh apples and plums for the winter will infuse, become more saturated in color and will be completely ready in a month. Drink with pleasure!
