  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to fry cod in a frying pan? Prepare the necessary ingredients. You can take ready-made cod fillets or cut up whole fish. If the fish is frozen, remove it in advance. It is best to defrost in the refrigerator so as not to expose the fish to a sharp temperature contrast. This will preserve the maximum taste of the product. Olive oil can be replaced with any odorless vegetable oil.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Frozen fish usually contains excess moisture. Gently squeeze out the fillets and pat dry, otherwise the fish will stew rather than fry. If the fillet is large, cut it into portions. It is advisable that the thickness of the pieces be no more than 3 cm, so that the fish is better fried. Salt each piece on both sides.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

For cooking, it is better to use a non-stick frying pan. This will prevent the fish from sticking to the bottom and it will be easier to turn it over. Heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it completely covers the bottom of the pan. To make the fish tastier, add butter to the pan. Wait for it to melt and use a wooden spatula to mix it with the olive oil.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Place pieces of fish fillet into heated oil. Fry the cod over moderate heat until golden brown, 4-5 minutes. Cooking time will depend on the size and thickness of the pieces.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

To make the fish juicier, while frying, periodically baste it with oil from the bottom of the pan using a spoon.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

When the fish is halfway white and browned, carefully turn it over to the other side with a spatula. Do not turn the pieces over if they are not covered with a crust, so as not to further injure the fillet. Fry the fish on the other side for another 4-5 minutes until cooked through. There is no need to overcook the fish, otherwise it will turn out dry.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Carefully place the cod fillet on a plate, sprinkle with lemon juice. Serve the fish hot with a side dish of potatoes, cereals or fresh vegetables. Bon appetit!

I fried fish for lunch, using a recipe for pan-fried cod (I had pollock). The cooking process is described in great detail, thanks to which my fish turned out tasty, juicy, with a crispy crust, sprinkled with lemon juice. I used to use lemon juice to serve salted fish. It was interesting to try it fried. I added flour, in which I rolled the fish pieces, and onions, with which the fish became aromatic and very appetizing. I fried the pollock in a mixture of vegetable and butter. I added the onion after turning the fish over and fried everything together for 5 minutes. After that, I put the onion on a plate, placed pieces of fish on it, and before serving, poured lemon juice over them. We ate pollock with mashed potatoes, it turned out very tasty! Thank you very much for the recipe!
