STEP 1
Prepare food. Remove the butter from the refrigerator in advance; it should become soft. If you don’t have time to wait, then melt it in the microwave or just on the stove; this is not critical in this recipe. I took cane sugar, you can use any sugar.
STEP 2
Place the butter in a bowl, sprinkle sugar and vanilla on top. Mix well. I stirred with a whisk, soft butter behaved wonderfully. It is not necessary to beat with a mixer.
STEP 3
Add eggs to the butter.

Continue stirring intensively, achieving a homogeneous consistency. This will happen pretty quickly.
STEP 5
Mix flour with baking powder and add it to the butter-egg mixture. We begin to mix in the flour. First with a whisk, then it will become difficult for them to work.
STEP 6
Take a spoon or spatula and start stirring vigorously. The dough turns out to be quite tight, but flexible and easy to work with. Our goal is to get rid of flour lumps.
STEP 7
Let's do chocolate. It needs to be chopped into small pieces. This will be easy to do if the chocolate sits in the freezer for a while and hardens. In addition, it will melt less from the warmth of your hands.
STEP 8
Add chopped chocolate to the dough. Stir again until all the chocolate is evenly distributed.
STEP 9
Set the oven to preheat at 190 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Let's start forming cookies. To do this, take the dough with a spoon dipped in water and form a ball. I have an ice cream scoop, so it was convenient to make balls. If the spoon is simple, then help with your hands.
STEP 10
Flatten the pieces a little. Do not place cookies close to each other; they will increase in size during baking.
STEP 11
Bake cookies for 15-20 minutes at 190 degrees. The cookies will golden slightly, but not much. This time is quite enough; if the cookies are left too long, they will become dry. Bon appetit!
