    Beat butter at room temperature with sugar until the mixture becomes fluffy. Add eggs, vanilla sugar and beet puree to the mixture and mix thoroughly.

    Combine flour, salt, baking powder and cocoa powder and sift. Add the dry ingredients to the butter-beet mixture and stir gently. At this stage the dough will be very thick and dense.

    Now you need to pour a glass of boiling water into the dough. Add water in small portions, stirring the mixture constantly. The finished dough should have a consistency similar to thick sour cream.

    Grease a baking dish with vegetable oil and pour the dough into it. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees. If desired, the cake can be topped with melted chocolate or whipped cream, but it is good without any additives.

I was surprised by your recipe! I had to try the carrot based cake. It’s clear there: carrots can be used as a natural dye; it gives a special color or shade to the dough. But I haven’t tried the dough with beets. It became interesting: what does beets give to the dough: a special taste or something else? Your dough is dark, chocolate, so it’s unlikely that beets can somehow affect the color of the cake... Please tell us about your impressions of the recipe in more detail, thank you in advance for your answer.

And the recipe surprised me! I think the beets add a hint of sweetness and enhance the color. cocoa is only 4 tablespoons. not so much.
