  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

Let's prepare the ingredients. You can take any part of the chicken: thighs, wings or chicken breast. With fillet, the dish, of course, will turn out juicier and tastier, so we’ll take the breast, besides, there will be no bones. Be sure to take fresh and young cabbage; it will be more tender when baked and does not require preliminary heat treatment. Wash the chicken fillet well and cut into small portions.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Shred the cabbage into thin strips. Cut the onion into half rings.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Grease the baking dish with vegetable oil. Place the meat on the bottom of the pan.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Sprinkle onions and shredded cabbage on top.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

In a glass, mix 3 tablespoons of sour cream with water and a third of a teaspoon of salt and a pinch of ground black pepper.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Pour this mixture over the cabbage and chicken so that the liquid covers the contents of the mold. Sour cream will make the chicken and cabbage even softer and more tender, and will also add a pleasant creamy taste to the dish. To make the dish more dietary, you do not need to add sour cream; we use only water for filling.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Place the pan with cabbage and chicken in the oven for half an hour. We grate hard cheese on a medium grater; you can use any type of cheese to taste and availability. After the allotted time, remove the dish from the oven; the liquid should completely evaporate.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Sprinkle the cabbage and chicken on top with grated cheese and put it back in the oven for literally 5 minutes so that the cheese melts. Remove the dish from the oven, let it cool slightly and serve with fresh bread and fresh vegetables, mayonnaise or sauce as desired. Bon appetit!
