  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make chicken hearts in sour cream in a pot in the oven with potatoes? There is nothing complicated about this recipe. To begin, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. You can cook not only in pots, but in any heat-resistant baking dish. If desired, in addition to the indicated ingredients, you can add mushrooms. You can use any broth: chicken, meat or vegetable. If there is no broth, replace it with water.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Rinse the hearts, peel them, cut them in half lengthwise. Blood clots may remain in the chambers of the hearts, which also need to be removed.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Peel the potatoes and cut into slices or medium cubes.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Peel the carrots and cut into circles or semicircles depending on the diameter.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Peel the onion and cut into half rings.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Heat some vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat, add the hearts and fry until the juice runs clear. There is no need to fry the hearts too much, otherwise they will become rubbery and tough, because they are dense muscle tissue.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Distribute the peeled potatoes and fried hearts among the pots. Lightly salt and pepper everything to taste. You can add your own spices to taste

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Heat the remaining vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry the onions and carrots until soft.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Transfer the fried vegetables into pots. Lightly salt and pepper. If you wish, you can not fry anything at all, but immediately put everything in pots raw and bake until done.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Pour some chicken broth into each pot. It should not be higher than the middle of the pot, as the vegetables will also release juice. If there is too much broth, it will flow out of the pots when boiling. Place sour cream in the pots. If you wish, you can mix sour cream with mayonnaise or completely replace sour cream with mayonnaise. You can also sprinkle grated cheese on top if you wish.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Cover the pots with lids and place in an oven preheated to 180°C for about 50 minutes. The exact baking time depends on your ingredients, technique, and personal preference.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Sprinkle chicken hearts with potatoes with fresh herbs and serve directly in pots. Bon appetit!

I wanted to add variety to the menu and do something new. I remembered that my husband had long ago asked me to cook chicken hearts. After looking at the recipes on the website, I decided to make chicken hearts in a pot in the oven with potatoes. It’s very convenient - both the meat and the side dish are cooked in a pot at the same time. Having started cooking, I immediately took care of the hearts, cut off all the fat from them and, cutting them in half, removed the blood clots. Then I fried the hearts a little in a frying pan and put them into pots. Next I sent chopped potatoes and fried carrots and onions. Added salt, sour cream, Provençal herbs. I poured half a glass of broth into the pots (diluted half a broth cube in hot water). Then I put the pots in the oven for 50 minutes. During the stewing time, the hearts became soft and juicy. Sour cream and spices gave the meat and vegetables a pleasant taste and aroma. The potatoes turned out tender and crumbly. There is some broth left in the pots - so delicious! My husband was pleased and thanked me for the delicious dish! Thank you very much for the recipe!

To be honest, I cook hearts in pots all the time now. More precisely, if I cook hearts, it’s in a pot. I liked it very much. So I tried it yesterday. Although you can’t see the hearts themselves, they are there, below - honestly :)
