  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake chicken drumsticks with potatoes in the oven? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Sour cream is suitable for any fat content. Choose young or quickly boiling varieties of potatoes. Spices and herbs are a matter of taste and preference, so you can add what you like best. Olive oil can be replaced with any vegetable oil. Or spread pieces of butter on the potatoes before baking.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

In a deep bowl, combine sour cream with paprika, salt, 1 teaspoon of dried basil and stir. If desired, you can add garlic, passed through a press.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Wash the chicken drumsticks and pat dry with paper towels. Add the drumsticks to the sour cream and mix well. Leave them to marinate for 1-1.5 hours. If time does not allow, then you can slightly reduce the duration of marinating. But keep in mind that the longer the drumsticks are marinated, the tastier, more tender and more aromatic they will be. For marinating, you can use any other marinades.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Turn on the oven to 180 degrees in advance. Peel the potatoes, wash them, cut into thin slices. If the potatoes are old, dense, difficult to boil, or you are not sure that they will have time to cook, then simply blanch them in boiling water, already chopped, for about 2-3 minutes (they should become softer, but remain half-raw), then carefully drain them in a colander and continue cooking.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Peel, wash and cut the onions into thin quarters or half rings. To prevent the onion from stinging your eyes when slicing, rinse it and the knife with cold water.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Combine potatoes with onion and basil, add salt, olive oil and ground black pepper. Mix everything well.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Place the prepared potatoes in a baking dish and smooth out.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

    Place chicken drumsticks on top.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Cover the pan with foil. Bake the drumsticks with potatoes in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 1 hour. Baking times and temperatures are approximate - use your oven as a guide.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

After an hour, remove the foil and put the pan back in the oven for 15 minutes so that the chicken is browned. Serve the chicken drumsticks with the potatoes hot. If desired, you can sprinkle with finely chopped fresh herbs before serving. Bon appetit!

Practical, satisfying and incredibly tasty dish. Chicken drumsticks can be baked not only with potatoes, but with rice or buckwheat.

Chicken drumsticks with potatoes are a very quick dish to prepare. If you marinate the chicken in advance, of course. I left it to marinate in the refrigerator overnight. The drumsticks were perfectly soaked in the marinade and turned out tender and soft when finished. Very convenient, the side dish and meat are prepared right away. Both the potatoes and chicken drumsticks turned out fragrant and tasty. Thanks to baking in foil, all the ingredients came out juicy and rich in flavor. I didn’t add basil to the potatoes, I just sprinkled them with paprika, salt and pepper. Golden potatoes and rosy chicken, a wonderful dinner for the whole family!

It turned out very tasty and satisfying) I replaced the basil with dill, marinated the drumsticks for 2 hours. I fried them for 1 hour under foil at 160 degrees, then another 10 minutes without it. I liked the recipe. I recommend it!
