  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake chicken drumsticks in soy sauce in the oven? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Use classic soy sauce, not teriyaki, since teriyaki already contains sugar. But for us, sugar and honey are fundamentally important - they caramelize during baking and the legs will turn out with a crispy crust.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Wash the chicken drumsticks well and dry. Check the legs for unplucked feathers and if there are any, remove them.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

How to make a honey-soy marinade for chicken? In a bowl, mix soy sauce, liquid honey, balsamic vinegar, cane sugar and spices. Mix everything. If the honey is candied, first melt it on the stove or in the microwave. You can replace dry garlic with 2-3 cloves of fresh garlic, but keep in mind that pieces of garlic may burn in the oven. Therefore, when roasting meat to a crisp, I usually replace fresh garlic with dry garlic.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Place the chicken drumsticks in the bowl with the marinade and mix well so that all the legs are coated with the marinade. Let the chicken marinate for 1 hour at room temperature, stirring occasionally.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Transfer the legs to a baking dish. If you want to go the simple route, then pour all or part of the marinade from the legs into the mold and bake in an oven preheated to 200°C for about 35-40 minutes. Periodically grease them with soy sauce from the bottom of the mold. But you can do it differently: grease the legs with marinade and put in the oven for 35-40 minutes and bake at 190-200°C. Everyone’s oven works differently, the article will help you choose the time and temperature, link at the end of the recipe

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Pour the marinade remaining after the legs into a saucepan and simmer over medium heat until it becomes a thick sauce.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

The sauce should leave marks on the spoon and the sides of the saucepan. It will boil down by about 2-3 times. This will take about 15-20 minutes while the chicken is in the oven.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

After 25-30 minutes of baking, brush the legs with thick soy sauce and return to the oven. Bake for about 10 minutes or longer until golden brown and crispy. You can turn on the “top-bottom convection” mode.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Serve the finished chicken drumsticks baked in soy sauce with honey and garlic right out of the oven. If desired, sprinkle them with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Bon appetit!

I baked chicken drumsticks in soy sauce in the oven. The sauce recipe is unusual for me, that’s why I paid attention to it. I pre-washed and dried the drumsticks so that the marinade was better absorbed. I didn't have brown sugar, so I replaced it with white sugar, using a smaller amount. There was no balsamic vinegar either, so I decided that wine vinegar would also work. I took everything else according to the recipe. Melt the honey in the microwave to make it more liquid. I passed the garlic through a press. I marinated the drumsticks in a bag overnight. I baked it for about 40 minutes, before doing so I removed the pieces of garlic so they wouldn’t burn. I didn’t boil the sauce; I didn’t have time. My legs weren’t as dark as the author’s, but the crust turned out very crispy! The taste of the meat is unusual, sweet and spicy. Garlic adds a pleasant aroma and spicy taste. I liked this version of a familiar dish. Thanks for the recipe!

For lunch I decided to cook chicken drumsticks in soy sauce in the oven according to this recipe. I prepared chicken drumsticks, I got 8 pieces per kilogram. I poured soy sauce and balsamic vinegar into a gravy boat and added spices: homemade dried garlic, ground paprika, a little chicken spice, freshly ground pepper, sugar and melted honey. I mixed the sauce and poured it over the prepared drumsticks. Cover the bowl with cling film and leave to marinate for an hour. Placed the drumsticks in a baking dish, generously brushing them with sauce. Placed the oven in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 35 minutes. I simmered the remaining sauce on the stove for 10 minutes; it turned out not too thick, but quite rich. After 35 minutes, I coated the legs with thickened sauce and left them in the oven for another 10 minutes to form a golden, delicious crust. The chicken drumsticks turned out very appetizing, aromatic, juicy and tasty! The recipe is simple, with a minimum of effort, and the finished dish is in no way inferior in taste to the restaurant! Thanks to the author for the recipe!

The result was unusually soft and fragrant meat in a flavorful sauce that has a viscous consistency. The taste of the sauce merges with the taste of the chicken into a single whole and has a unique taste. This dish can be prepared every day. I really liked it. The only caveat is that I cooked it in a frying pan. The remaining sauce in which the drumsticks were marinated was poured over the rice as a side dish. Next time I'll try it in the oven.

Everything is great, but I have a question. 1) When preparing more chicken in the marinade, is it logical to use more than a double portion of sugar, honey and sweet ingredients, or everything according to the recipe, but in double volume? 2) if there is no balsamic vinegar, is it possible to use sauce with balsamic vinegar from Modena (although it is also sweet)? 3) When cooking in a glass container, the drumsticks release too much juice and the chicken is not so much baked as boiled (cooking mode in the oven is 200 degrees, on the second level of the guides. Heating top bottom. )
