Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

How to make cherry liqueur at home? Prepare the ingredients according to the list. Liqueur differs from other alcoholic drinks in that it is sweeter and is made from berries or fruits with added sugar. Cherries can be used fresh or frozen. Vodka for such drinks should be used only of high quality.
STEP 2

Wash the cherries and remove the stems. If desired, you can remove the pits from the cherries; they are believed to contain hydrocyanic acid, which is dangerous to human health. But in principle there is so little of it that, in fact, the drink will turn out to be completely harmless. However, thanks to the seeds, the drink will acquire a pleasant almond flavor. Heat each cherry with a toothpick.
STEP 3

Pour cold water into a saucepan or cup and place on fire. Add sugar to the pan and stir until it dissolves. Add cherries to sugar syrup. Boil the cherries in the syrup over medium heat for about 10 minutes from the moment of boiling, then turn off the heat and let the cherries cool.
STEP 4

Pour the cherries and syrup into a glass jar. Pour vodka into the jar of cherries.
STEP 5

Close the jar with a nylon lid and place in a dark place for two weeks.
STEP 6

After the specified time, strain the resulting drink through gauze folded in several layers. Pour the liqueur into prepared clean bottles. Let it cool well in the refrigerator and serve. Surprise your guests with aromatic and tasty homemade cherry liqueur!
