    Wash the cherries and remove the stems. If desired, you can remove the pits from the cherries; they are believed to contain hydrocyanic acid, which is dangerous to human health. But in principle there is so little of it that, in fact, the drink will turn out to be completely harmless. However, thanks to the seeds, the drink will acquire a pleasant almond flavor. Heat each cherry with a toothpick.

    Pour cold water into a saucepan or cup and place on fire. Add sugar to the pan and stir until it dissolves. Add cherries to sugar syrup. Boil the cherries in the syrup over medium heat for about 10 minutes from the moment of boiling, then turn off the heat and let the cherries cool.

I used to make various alcoholic liqueurs, but then somehow I didn’t have time for that) And then I was looking for something to make from cherries other than jam and saw a recipe for cherry liqueur at home. I haven’t experimented with cherries yet. The base was made from “Mika” cherries; it is sour, but very fragrant. We didn't have vodka, but we had good moonshine. I combined it all in a liter jar and put it in the closet for two weeks. Shake it periodically. After the expiration date, I opened the jar, and there was not just liquid, but something similar to jelly. I was very surprised) After straining, I poured the cherry liqueur into a bottle and put it in the refrigerator. The liqueur turned out thick and viscous, as expected. The color is beautiful, ruby, especially if you look at the sun through a glass. The drink turned out strong, with a rich cherry flavor. By the way, when I took out the berries, I thought that they could be used in the “Drunk Cherry” cake if the seeds were removed. Well, or pour fresh berries with liqueur for infusion.
