STEP 1
How to make cabbage for cabbage rolls in the microwave? Prepare all the necessary products. We only need cabbage. It doesn’t matter what it is: young, old harvest, or even Chinese cabbage. STEP 2
Take a head of cabbage that is dense and elastic. Be sure to wash the cabbage well, preferably even with a brush. Remove the top 2-3 leaves. They are usually always damaged and dirty. Using a long, sharp knife, make several deep cuts around the stalk. In principle, you can remove it immediately, but it will be more convenient to do this when the cabbage is ready and becomes softer.
STEP 3
Place the cabbage in a plastic bag and tie it tightly. You can also wrap the cabbage in cling film.
STEP 4
Place the bagged cabbage in a microwave-safe bowl. Let me remind you that metal utensils, as well as utensils with shiny ornaments, cannot be used in such ovens. Due to the use of such utensils, the microwave oven may spark during use and may even catch fire. However, glass, ceramic and paper dishes are allowed for use.
STEP 5
Place the cabbage in the microwave. Cooking time depends on the power of your stove. I have a microwave power of 1000 and a cooking time of 15 minutes, with a power of 800 the cooking time will be 20 minutes, and with a power of 600 it will be 25 minutes. Focus on your equipment. When the oven turns off, leave the cabbage in it for another 5 minutes and only then take it out. To remove the head of cabbage from the microwave, use gloves, because. the dishes will be very hot.
STEP 6
Remove the head of cabbage from the bag - carefully, don’t get burned! Let it cool slightly and remove the stalk completely. The cabbage will be very soft. Carefully separate the sheets from each other and start making cabbage rolls!
