STEP 1
How to bake beef steak in the oven? For steaks, I recommend choosing only grain-fed beef with good marbling - a pattern of fat streaks. The cut must be suitable for frying or baking. The quality of the meat directly determines the result: from delight to complete disappointment. If you have a whole piece of beef, cut the steak 2 cm high and only across the grain of the meat. Heat a dry non-stick frying pan (without oil) over high heat. Place the steak in the pan and fry for a minute over high heat.
STEP 3
Then turn the steak over and sear again for one minute. We're trying to create a golden brown crust on the meat that will help retain all the juices inside the steak and prevent it from drying out later.
STEP 4
Place the steak on a baking sheet (or baking dish) with low sides, without greasing it with oil. And bake in an oven already preheated to two hundred degrees for five to ten minutes, depending on what kind of roasting you prefer. I left the steak in the oven for ten minutes and got my favorite medium rare with light pink juices inside.
STEP 5
Be sure to cover the steak with foil for about three minutes after cooking. This way he rests and prepares for serving. Just before serving, pepper and salt the steak to taste.
