STEP 1

How to make an Armenian round gata? First of all, we prepare the necessary products for making delicious creamy flatbreads.
STEP 2

Take a deep bowl and break one chicken egg into it, then add the white from the second chicken egg into it, leaving the yolk for further greasing of baked goods, then pour one hundred grams of sugar into the bowl and put fifty grams of softened butter into it.
STEP 3

Add one quarter teaspoon of salt to the bowl and mix all the ingredients together well.
STEP 4

Take a fine sieve and sift five hundred and fifty grams of premium wheat flour into a large bowl in parts, then add seven grams of dry instant yeast into it and mix well.

Pour one hundred eighty milliliters of milk at room temperature into a bowl with the egg-butter mixture.
STEP 6

Place wheat flour mixed with yeast into a bowl with a liquid base in parts and knead the dough. It may take you more or less flour than it did for me. Focus on the consistency of the dough.

Continue to thoroughly knead the dough in the bowl with your hands for ten minutes until smooth.
STEP 8

Add one tablespoon of vegetable oil to the bowl with the dough.
STEP 9

Continue kneading the dough in the bowl for about two minutes until it reaches the desired consistency.

Grease the kneaded dough with a small amount of vegetable oil, then cover the bowl with a towel and put it in a warm place for one hour.

To prepare the filling, place three hundred grams of premium wheat flour in a deep bowl, which we sift through a fine sieve in advance, then pour one hundred and fifty grams of sugar and one teaspoon of vanilla sugar into it.

Pour half a teaspoon of turmeric into a common bowl and mix all the ingredients well.
STEP 13

Place fifty grams of ghee and one hundred grams of softened butter in a common bowl.
STEP 14

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and grind them with your hands into crumbs, which should stick together when squeezed.
STEP 15

After time, place the dough on the table and knead, then shape and divide it into six identical pieces.
STEP 16

We form koloboks from each piece of dough, then place them on the table and cover with a towel for ten minutes.

We roll each bun one by one into flat cakes one centimeter thick and grease them with butter to taste, leaving the edges of the flat cakes free.

Spoon four heaping tablespoons of prepared filling onto each tortilla.

Gather the edges of each filled tortilla.

Pressing with your hands, we form cakes, which we then roll out to one and a half centimeters thick.

Place the cakes on a baking tray lined with baking paper and brush them with beaten yolk with a little water to get a brown blush when baking.

Using a fork, make random patterns and several punctures on top of the flatbreads, then place the baking sheet with the flatbreads in a warm place for ten to fifteen minutes.

Place the baking sheet with the spaced flatbreads in an oven preheated to one hundred and ninety degrees and bake them for about fifteen minutes until golden. Determine the exact baking time and temperature based on your oven.
STEP 25

Place the prepared flatbreads on a table lined with a napkin.
