Ellisa, why are pancakes Arabic?

Qatayef are Arabic pancakes, baked in a frying pan on only ONE side. A sign that the pancake is ready is a completely dry (without wet spots) top layer. Qatayef (قطايف) is nothing more than an Arabic dessert, usually served during the month of Ramadan, a kind of sweet pancake filled with cheese and nuts. Kataef is traditionally considered a dish prepared by street vendors as well as housewives in Lebanon. I hope I was able to explain.

Very similar to our pancakes, only fried on one side. I'll take note of the idea with corn flour. Next time I want to make pancakes with cottage cheese, I’ll try to make it this Arabic way.
