  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to cook apple jam through a meat grinder? Both sweet and sour-sweet apples are suitable. Adjust the amount of sugar depending on the taste of the apples. If the apples are sour, take 1.5-1.8 kg of sugar. Please note that the weight of apples is taken already peeled.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Wash the apples thoroughly, dry them, and remove seeds and stems.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Pass the apples through a meat grinder with a fine grid. If there is an electric assistant, the process will go much faster.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

To cook the jam, select a pan of suitable size. Aluminum will not work, since the acids contained in apples will negatively affect the metal. Place the chopped apples in a saucepan.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Add sugar to apples and stir.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Leave the apple mixture at room temperature for 1 hour until the sugar dissolves. To speed up the process, you can stir the mixture a couple of times.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Place the pan on the fire and bring to a boil. Cook over moderate heat for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. The jam will turn light brown and thicken only slightly. Remove the pan from the heat and leave at room temperature for 10-12 hours.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Then boil the jam for another 25 minutes from the moment it boils. During the cooking process, the apple mixture will thicken, so do not forget to stir so that the jam does not burn. The color of the jam will become darker. Leave the jam at room temperature for another 10-12 hours.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

The cooled jam should have a stable, thick consistency. If it still drips from the spoon, boil the jam again to the desired thickness and cool.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Wash the jars and sterilize them in a convenient way: in the microwave or by steaming. The lids also need to be boiled. Fill dry jars with jam and seal tightly. Store the workpiece in a cool, dark place.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

From this proportion of ingredients I got 2.1 liters of jam. Good luck!

We were treated to a large bag of carrion apples. You cannot make beautiful jam from such fruits, but you can make excellent apple jam for the winter using a meat grinder. The apples are early varieties "Yandyk", they are very fragrant and sweet. I cut them and twisted them in a meat grinder in the evening. I added sugar, mixed it and left it in the refrigerator, covered. And in the morning I started cooking. First, I brought it to a boil, and then simmered it on the lowest heat for half an hour. Any jam is difficult to cook because it gurgles, you have to constantly stir it, and it sticks to the bottom quickly) In the evening I finished cooking the jam and sealed it in jars. The aroma when cooking is unreal, it smells like natural summer apples! The same smell will remain in winter) My jam tasted sweet, but it will store well. I use it for filling pies, pies and buns. And it’s just delicious with tea.
