If your apples are sweet, then I advise you to reduce the amount of sugar, otherwise it will be cloying. Brown sugar goes into the filling, white sugar goes into the dough. Instead of walnuts, you can take any other nuts or eliminate them altogether.

    First of all, cut the butter into cubes and put it in the freezer. It should be very well chilled.

    Chop the nuts into medium-sized pieces.

    Place them in a dry frying pan and fry for 5 minutes over medium heat. This will enhance the flavor of the nuts. They will become crispier and more flavorful. This is not a necessary step, but after trying it once, you will see how much tastier the roasted nut is.

    Wash and peel the apples. Cut them in half and cut out the middle. Cut the apples into small pieces.

    Using a fork, rub the butter into the flour until it forms fine crumbs. The goal is to quickly knead the butter so that each piece is coated in flour and sugar. Then, when baking, the oil will make the flour crispy. If it melts, then this effect will not work. Therefore, you need to work quickly and not with your hands; the heat of your hands will cause the butter to melt.

    To prepare crumble, you can use either one large form or several portioned ones. Place caramelized apples in the bottom of the pan. Sprinkle them with nuts on top. I prefer a lot of apples, so I put them two-thirds full.

    Sprinkle sand crumbs on top. Place the crumble pans on a baking sheet. I advise you to cover it with parchment - if a lot of apple juice comes out during baking, then it will run away and not stain the baking sheet.

    Bake the crumble in the oven at 180°C for 25 minutes. Remove the finished dessert and cool slightly. Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream.

This dessert is quite quick to prepare; it takes the longest to peel and cut the apples) I grated the butter for the crumbs on a coarse grater directly into the flour, it’s more convenient for me. The apple crumble turned out to be delicious, aromatic, and it’s so unusual to take out pieces of pie with a spoon directly from the mold) Walnuts, apples and cinnamon are combined in the best way here. The crumb turned out crispy, crumbly on top, although the color did not brown much. Excellent unusual pie, I recommend it!

It turned out to be a very tasty crumble. I didn’t really like shortbread baking, but the crumble changed my mind and now I’ll be happy to cook it again. For baking, I used disposable molds with a diameter of 9 cm and a height of 2 cm. It turned out to be four servings. Since my molds are small, I needed fewer ingredients. It took me 60 g of flour, 30 g of sugar and 30 g of butter to make the shortbread crumbs. I made the shortbread strictly according to the recipe, but made a few changes to the filling. I decided not to cook the apples on the stove, but to use them fresh, in order to save time and preserve vitamins, especially since my apples were sweet. I needed one big apple. I had very little brown sugar, about 7 g, so I also added 20 g of maple syrup to the filling. And finally, a little cinnamon. All ingredients for the filling were mixed well and placed in baking dishes. I also placed chopped walnuts on top of the shortbread crust. Baked according to the recipe. The crumble was nicely browned and ready. The result was a delicious combination of shortbread crumbs and apple filling. The crumb is crispy and tender. The filling is sweet, but not over-sweetened, with a slight hint of cinnamon. Since I did not cook the apples on the stove, the filling was not liquid, did not spread, and the apples were well baked. Overall, this is a very tasty dessert, very easy to prepare. A great alternative to apple pies.

Crumble translated from English means “to crumble.” And apple pie crumble is just a godsend for those who don’t want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen, but really love sweets. I prefer the cherry apple pie crumble. To prevent the filling from spreading, I mix it with a spoonful of potato starch, and completely cover it with crumbs on top.

I think IIM27 correctly noted that I would also add a little starch to the filling, otherwise there will be crumbs on top, and there will be a lot of juice inside and the apples may turn out wet. How delicious the crumbles must be, I especially liked the crust!
