Vegetable stew with cabbage
The fastest way to prepare this dish is in which all the vegetables are cut into pieces of the desired shape and stewed in one bowl with a thick bottom. They just lay them one by one, strictly adhering to it. For example, cabbage should be placed after potatoes, otherwise the latter will turn out to be a little “glassy”. But if the cabbage is sauerkraut, pickled or salted, it needs more cooking time, which needs to be taken into account.
First, onion, cut into half rings, is fried in vegetable oil until light brown. It comes with carrots grated on a coarse grater. Next is white cabbage, shredded into thin strips. And last but not least - potatoes, cut into cubes. If you first fry it separately, the dish will come out more aromatic and rich.
In addition to the listed vegetables, you can add any others of your choice to the vegetable stew: pumpkin, bell peppers, zucchini, tomatoes, legumes, pickles, mushrooms, meat, chicken, cereals (rice, buckwheat, millet, wheat). Store-bought frozen mixtures like Mexican, Italian, Chinese and so on fit in very easily. You will be guaranteed a variety of tastes.
