Watermelon cocktail
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make a watermelon cocktail? Prepare your ingredients. Choose a ripe watermelon. How to choose a watermelon? A ripe watermelon usually has a dry tail, a yellow-brown earthy spot and a dull sound when tapped. An unripe watermelon will make the drink tasteless. Sugar can be white or brown. Choose a lemon that is bright yellow without spots or damage. Take purified water. Ice can be prepared in advance from clean water. Lemon or pepper mint will do.
STEP 2
Wash the watermelon well with soap and a soft brush to remove dirt and germs. Wash the lemon with soap and a brush, and also pour boiling water over it to wash off the waxy coating that is usually used on citrus fruits.
STEP 3
Cut the watermelon and remove the crusts. We only need the pulp.
STEP 4
Cut the watermelon pulp into pieces, removing the seeds. If the seeds get into the blender, the flavor of the smoothie may be ruined.
STEP 5
When preparing the ingredients, do not forget to remove the zest from the lemon; we won’t need it. It can be used in other dishes. Peel the lemon and remove the white skins and seeds, otherwise they will add bitterness to the dish. Cut the lemon into slices.
STEP 6
Place lemon slices into a blender bowl.
STEP 7
Add half the sugar to the lemon.
STEP 8
Next, add the watermelon pulp and sprinkle with the remaining sugar. You may need more or less sugar, because... Watermelons have varying degrees of sugar content, and lemons can be more or less sour. Focus on your taste.
STEP 9
Blend the watermelon pieces, lemon and sugar in a blender until smooth. This will take no more than a minute. But be guided by your technique, you may need more time.
STEP 10
Pour the prepared water into the fruit mixture. The water must be purified. If you take tap water, the taste of the drink may become unpleasant.
STEP 11
Beat the cocktail again in a blender. A pink foam will appear, which means the ingredients are well mixed.
STEP 12
Strain the mixture through a fine sieve or cheesecloth. The strained drink is easier and more pleasant to drink. But if you like your smoothie with pulp, you can leave it.
STEP 13
Pour the finished cocktail into tall glasses. They are comfortable to hold in your hand and drink through a cocktail straw.
STEP 14
Add ice cubes to your drink to cool it down and make it taste better. If the watermelon was pre-chilled, then you don’t need to add ice. Or cool the finished drink in the refrigerator.
STEP 15
Garnish the cocktail with slices of fruit and mint sprigs. Serve the chilled cocktail to the table. Bon appetit!
