Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

To prepare Turkish baklava, we prepare the necessary products.
STEP 2

Sift four hundred grams of flour into a large bowl and add one teaspoon of baking powder.
STEP 3

Pour half a teaspoon of salt into a bowl.
STEP 4

Break and add two chicken eggs to the bowl.
STEP 5

Pour one hundred milliliters of milk at room temperature into a bowl.
STEP 6

Add fifty milliliters of vegetable oil to a common bowl and begin to knead the dough.
STEP 7

Pour fifty milliliters of vegetable oil into the bowl with the assembled kneaded dough and continue kneading it for about three minutes.
STEP 8

We gather the dough into a ball, then put it in a bag and put it in the refrigerator for one hour.
STEP 9

After an hour, we take the dough out of the refrigerator and put it on the table, then stretch it into a rope, which in turn we cut and divide into twenty-four identical pieces.
STEP 10

Make a bun from each piece of dough and put them in a bag.
STEP 11

After pouring a little starch on the table, knead each dough ball in turn.
STEP 12

Roll out to a very thin and transparent cake.
STEP 13

Pour three hundred grams of chopped walnuts and one hundred grams of powdered sugar into a deep bowl.
STEP 14

Mix the nuts and powdered sugar well and the baklava filling is ready.
STEP 15

Place and evenly distribute one tablespoon of prepared filling on each flatbread.
STEP 16

Using two chopsticks, roll the filled tortillas into rolls.
STEP 17

We assemble the rolls on sticks into a kind of accordion.
STEP 18

Remove the rolls from the sticks and place them on a baking sheet greased with a small amount of butter.
STEP 19

Pour melted butter over the rolls and place the baking sheet in an oven preheated to one hundred and seventy-five degrees. To prepare sugar syrup, bring four hundred milliliters of water to a boil in a saucepan, pour in two hundred grams of sugar and a third of a teaspoon of citric acid, then stir and boil the syrup for about twenty-five minutes.
STEP 20

After thirty-five minutes, remove the baking sheet from the oven, let the baklava cool a little time and pour the prepared and cooled sugar syrup over it.
STEP 21

Decorate the baklava with ground pistachios on top and, covering it with a kitchen napkin, put the baking sheet in a cool place so that the syrup is well absorbed, for eight to ten hours.
