  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make tomato slices with onions and butter for the winter? Prepare the ingredients. You need to use dense tomatoes, small in size with thick skin. We need the following spices and herbs: bay leaf, allspice, cloves, a sprig of parsley, dill and horseradish for aroma and piquant taste. If desired, you can add any other seasoning. Rinse the greens thoroughly, let them dry in a colander.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Rinse the fruits thoroughly under running water, dry with paper napkins or drain in a colander. Cut the tomatoes into halves or quarters.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Peel the onions (you also need to take medium-sized bulbs so that they can fit comfortably in jars) and cut into rings; if the onion is large, then into halves of circles. Peel the garlic and divide it into cloves.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

In pre-washed and sterilized jars with soda (using one of the convenient and proven methods: in a water bath, in the microwave or in the oven), place cooked greens, a few onion rings, a couple of cloves of garlic and a piece of horseradish root on the bottom.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Place the tomatoes tightly on top, placing the remaining onions between the rows. Place the tomatoes up to the hangers of the jars.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Cook the marinade: pour filtered water into a saucepan, add bay leaf, allspice, cloves, sugar, salt, put on fire. Let the marinade boil, simmer for 5 minutes, stirring with a spoon until the dry ingredients are completely dissolved. Pour in table vinegar and turn off the heat.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Pour the boiling marinade over the tomatoes in the jars so that it completely covers the contents of the jars. Pour a tablespoon of vegetable oil into each jar. Immediately seal the jars with sterile lids. Let the workpiece cool upside down under a warm blanket. This preparation does not require additional sterilization; vinegar and horseradish in the composition act as excellent preservatives. Store it in a cool place. Bon appetit!

Tomato halves look very beautiful in a jar, so appetizing! But I wonder how such a preparation is stored and how the tomato halves themselves feel afterwards?

Nice recipe, I made it last year. But, my banks also swelled in the morning. I had to sterilize. This year I will do it, but I will sterilize it right away.
