  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make jam from tea rose petals at home? Very simple! First of all, collect the opened buds of tea roses.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

I used two different types of tea roses for the jam: pink and burgundy. This will give the jam an interesting look.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Pick the buds of newly opened flowers and place them in a deep bowl.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Fill to the top with cold, clean water and leave for a while. This is necessary, first of all, so that small insects, bugs and spiders, which may be between the flower petals, float to the surface. Next, drain the water.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Separate the petals from the stalks; we won't need them anymore.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Prepare all other ingredients. Wash the lemon well with food grade cleaner and dry with a paper towel.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Before making the jam, drain the rose petals in a colander and rinse again under cold running water.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Pour clean filtered water into the pan and add sugar. Place over high heat, bring to a boil, stir. After boiling, squeeze out the juice of half a lemon. How to choose a suitable pan can be read in the article, the link to which you will find at the end of this recipe.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Place the petals in boiling sweet water. You can add petals in portions for convenience.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Stirring continuously, wait until it boils. Remove the pan from the heat and cool the rose syrup completely.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Then put the pan back on the stove and after boiling, remove it again and cool.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Repeat the procedure several times until you get the jam consistency you want.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

I cooled and boiled six times. The last two times after boiling, I reduced the heat to very low and, stirring, cooked the petals for about one minute. As a result, I ended up with medium thick jam. Leave the pan to cool completely.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

The fragrant rose jam is ready! Serve for tea!

  15. STEP 15

    STEP 15

You can also roll the jam into sterile jars and store it in a cool place for long-term storage. To do this, first wash the jars with soda and sterilize them in a convenient way, for example in an oven. Place the still wet jars upside down in a cold oven. Preheat it to 150°C, sterilize 0.5 liter jars for 10 minutes. Wash the lids and boil. Pour the jam into jars after the last boil, close the lids, wrap and let cool.
