Stewed potatoes with pork ribs in a pan
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to stew potatoes with pork ribs in a saucepan? Prepare all the products listed in the recipe. A very tasty dish is obtained if you use new potatoes. You can omit tomatoes from the recipe if you wish.
STEP 2
Peel the potatoes, onions and carrots and wash in cold water.
STEP 3
Cut large potatoes into arbitrary medium-sized pieces. Leave the small tubers whole; they look very appetizing in the finished dish. For a recipe, I always try to choose potatoes of approximately the same size; I take either all the larger tubers or all the small ones. If possible, use hard potatoes, then they will not be boiled and will look very beautiful on your plate.
STEP 4
Rinse the pork ribs, dry with paper towels and cut into pieces one at a time.
STEP 5
Heat refined vegetable oil in a thick-bottomed saucepan. You can use any utensil; potatoes with ribs will be no less tasty if you cook them in a cauldron, a duck pot, or in a frying pan with high edges. Send the ribs to fry. Cook over high heat, stirring occasionally, until golden brown. It will take 7 to 10 minutes.
STEP 6
Meanwhile, cut the onion into cubes and grate the carrots on a coarse grater.
STEP 7
Place the vegetables in the pan. Stirring, cook until the onion is translucent (approximately another 5-10 minutes).
STEP 8
Next comes the turn of the potatoes. Send him to the ribs. Salt to taste, add your favorite spices.
STEP 9
Pour water into the pan so that it does not completely cover the potatoes. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the flame to moderate and simmer the potatoes and ribs under a closed lid for about 20-25 minutes.
STEP 10
Place the tomato, cut into small cubes, bay leaf and chopped garlic clove into the pan. If desired, remove the peel from the tomato first. Instead of a regular tomato, you can use cherry tomatoes. They have a rich sweetish taste and perfectly complement potatoes and meat.
STEP 11
Mix everything and leave under a closed lid on low heat for 10 minutes. Sprinkle the finished dish with finely chopped herbs.
STEP 12
Let it brew for a while.
STEP 13
Serve hot!
