Steamed mackerel in a slow cooker
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to steam mackerel in a slow cooker? Before you start cooking, grab all the necessary ingredients. If you have mackerel from the freezer, then give it time to defrost on its own at room temperature. There is no need to try to defrost it in hot water. It's best to take it out of the freezer in the evening. Overnight it will have time to completely defrost.
STEP 2
Cut off the head and tail of the defrosted fish and, making a cut in the belly, remove all the insides. Then rinse the cleaned fish well in running water and pat lightly with paper towels to remove excess water from the fish.
STEP 3
Cut the mackerel into 4 parts.
STEP 4
Sprinkle all the pieces with lemon juice and sprinkle with salt and fish spices. Leave to sit and marinate for 10-15 minutes.
STEP 5
Before cooking fish, take a multicooker bowl and pour water into it. Add bay leaf, salt and a little spice. You can use peppercorns as a spice. It will give the finished fish a pleasant aroma.
STEP 6
Then place the fish pieces in a steaming bowl. This bowl comes with any multicooker. Place the bowl of fish in the multicooker bowl and close the lid.
STEP 7
Turn on the steam mode for 35 minutes. In this mode, the water in the bowl will actively boil, thereby creating large amounts of steam. Under the influence of this steam, the fish will cook. After the specified time, the multicooker will notify you that it is ready by emitting a sound signal. Be careful when opening the lid. Don't get burned by too much steam.
STEP 8
Transfer the finished fish to a plate and serve. This fish is very tasty if you serve it with fresh vegetables. But you can supplement it with a side dish of mashed potatoes or boiled rice. Bon appetit!
