    How to steam cabbage in a slow cooker? Prepare your food. The most delicious cabbage for steaming in segments is young cabbage. It will turn out juicy and soft. If you have autumn varieties of cabbage, it is better to chop it. This recipe can also be used to prepare other types of cabbage - cauliflower, broccoli, Savoy, Brussels sprouts. It is very convenient to boil leaves for cabbage rolls this way.

    Wash the head of cabbage and tear off the top leaves. Cut the cabbage any way you like. I will prepare the segments. Cut off the top of the stalk. First cut the head of cabbage into quarters, then each quarter into three more pieces. To prevent the pieces from falling apart during cooking, leave part of the stalk on them.

    Salt and pepper the cabbage pieces. You can also use any spices you like. You can steam cabbage in a double boiler, a slow cooker, or simply in a colander in a saucepan. I will cook in a slow cooker. Pour the required amount of water into the bowl. Install a special basket. Lubricate it with a drop of vegetable oil. Place the cabbage pieces in one row. Simply lay out the shredded cabbage in one layer.

    Turn on the “Steam” mode on the multicooker and set the time to 10 minutes. After the doneness signal, check the cabbage for softness. If it is not ready yet, add more time. This will depend on the type of cabbage and the thickness of the slice. I added another 4 minutes. Cooking times are approximate; be guided by the operating characteristics of your equipment.

    How to make green sauce for steamed white cabbage? To do this, pick sprigs of pre-washed and dried greens into a blender glass, removing the thick stems. I used dill, but parsley and basil would also work well. Pour in odorless vegetable oil, add a peeled clove of garlic. Squeeze some juice from the lemon. Add salt. Blend the ingredients with a blender until smooth.

    Serve the cabbage, sprinkled with sauce, to the table. For dietary purposes, the sauce can be omitted. Bon appetit!

The steamed cabbage itself is nothing special, but with the sauce offered for serving, it’s something! I used a steamer to cook the cabbage and a chopper for the sauce. I really liked this cutting - into slices, but it would probably be more suitable for young fresh cabbage. I had an old and stale one, it was delicious to chop it up with a knife already in the plate and mix it with the sauce. It turned out great - regular cabbage has quite a piquant taste!
