How to cook rice porridge with water and milk in a saucepan? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. For porridge, choose round grain rice. It contains more starch and boils better, so the porridge has a pleasant, enveloping thickness. The proportions of milk and water may vary. I cook 50/50. Choose the milk fat content to your taste.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Rinse the rice prepared for porridge in cold water. Then drain all excess water from it.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

For cooking, it is best to use a non-stick pan. The porridge will not burn to such a surface. Pour water into a saucepan and place on fire. Bring the water to a boil and place the washed rice in it. Stir and bring to a boil again. Cook the rice over low heat, stirring until it has absorbed all the water. This will take 5-7 minutes.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Then pour hot milk into the rice and stir. Add salt and sugar to the porridge to taste.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Cook the porridge for another 10 minutes. Adjust the thickness to your taste by adding hot milk or water. The more liquid there is, the thinner the porridge will be. When the rice becomes soft, remove the pan from the heat and leave the porridge to brew under the lid for another 10-15 minutes.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

After standing, the porridge will become even thicker. Even in a brewed porridge, you can add hot liquid if necessary. The rice porridge is ready! Place it on plates, add a piece of butter and help yourself! Bon appetit!

I decided to cook sweet rice porridge with water and milk in a saucepan. Usually I first wash the rice and soak it in water to swell, and then cook it in milk until tender. This recipe is much faster. Even taking into account that I used long-grain rice (although more viscous round rice is better for this recipe), my porridge turned out not crumbly, but liquid and soft, as I wanted. And if you add more milk, the porridge will be even more viscous. I served my porridge with frozen berries, it was very tasty. Thanks to the author.
