STEP 1

How to cook rice porridge with dried apricots? Prepare your food. In addition to dried apricots, you can use other dried fruits; they are also rich in various beneficial substances. If you wish, if you want the finished dish to be less caloric, you can cook the porridge only with water. But milk rice porridge undoubtedly turns out more tasty and healthy.
STEP 2

Take round polished rice, the porridge will then be more viscous. Rinse the rice thoroughly, changing the water several times until it runs clear, to remove all the smallest traces of dust from the grain.
STEP 3

Also rinse the dried apricots thoroughly under running water, then place them in a bowl and pour boiling water over them. Leave for 15 minutes so that the dried fruits steam well. Drain the water, dry the dried apricots with paper towels and cut into small pieces.
STEP 4

Place the rice in a saucepan and cover with hot water. Put it on fire. The main thing is to choose the right proportions of rice and liquid so that the porridge turns out viscous and the rice is well boiled. For a glass of rice, take 2 glasses of water and 1.5 glasses of milk. When the water boils, add salt to taste. Stir. Reduce heat to low and simmer the porridge, covering the pan with a lid, for about 20 minutes. During this time, almost all the liquid should evaporate.
STEP 5

Pour in the milk, stir and cook for about 5 minutes.
STEP 6

Then add dried apricots and sugar to the pan with porridge. You can adjust the amount of sugar to your taste. Stir and keep the porridge on the fire for another 5 minutes. Then turn off the fire.
STEP 7

Add a knob of butter to the pan with the rice. Cover the pan with a lid, wrap it in a warm towel and leave for 15 minutes “under a fur coat”.
STEP 8

The porridge is ready. Arrange it on plates and serve, optionally with pieces of fresh fruit, berries, jam or preserves. Bon appetit!
