  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make rice porridge like in kindergarten in a saucepan? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Take round rice - it cooks well and the porridge turns out more homogeneous. Read more about the intricacies of choosing rice in a separate article at the end of this recipe. You can take milk of any fat content.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Rinse the rice several times in cold water to remove excess starch. Usually, it is enough to rinse it 3-4 times. Drain all excess water from it.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Pour water into a saucepan, add sugar and a pinch of salt and put on fire. Bring to a boil. Sugar and salt should dissolve in water. To prepare milk porridge, I recommend using a non-stick pan so that the milk does not burn. You can also use a pan with a thick bottom. Read more about which pan is best to choose in the article at the end of the recipe.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Place washed rice in boiling water. Bring everything to a boil. Boil the rice for 5 minutes over medium heat.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Separately, bring the milk to a boil so that when added to the rice there is no temperature difference and the porridge continues to cook. Pour the boiling milk into the pan with the rice, stir, cover and leave to cook for 5-7 minutes over low heat. Periodically, the porridge must be stirred and ensure that it does not burn.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

The rice will noticeably increase in volume and the porridge will become thicker. If you prefer thin porridge, you can adjust its consistency by adding milk or water. Keep in mind that after standing, the porridge will become even thicker. Remove the pan from the heat and leave to stand with the lid on for another 15 minutes.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Delicious rice porridge with milk, just like in kindergarten, is ready! Divide the children's rice porridge into bowls and serve. You can add a little butter, jam, fresh fruit or berries to the porridge. Bon appetit!

Rice porridge, like in kindergarten, is a great start to the day, especially for a child. My porridge using this recipe turned out to be very successful and tasty. The ratio of rice to liquid is just perfect. The consistency of the rice porridge was not liquid, but not too thick either. I liked using a mixture of water and milk, not too fatty and not too “dietary”) I added a little less sugar, to my taste. The porridge turned out to be very tender and satisfying. I will make this recipe again, thank you!

Porridge with “Good Morning” :) For my family, rice porridge has long been a wonderful and satisfying breakfast. This recipe turned out very tasty and healthy. I increased the water and milk a little, took 550 ml in equal proportions to make it thinner and reduced the sugar to 1 tbsp, since a 1.7-year-old child eats porridge. I added butter, dried apricots, a little honey and cashew nuts. The taste is incredible. !👍🏻Thanks to the author for the recipe🌹

To prevent the milk from burning, you must first bring the water to a boil, then pour in the milk and after the milk boils, throw the cereal into the pan. I read this in one recipe, it works with any pan. Apparently the trick is that the milk gets into a hot container and it doesn’t burn. And so the milk heats up along with the pan.
