STEP 1
How to make rice in foil in the oven? Prepare your food. Any rice will do. Basmati rice turns out to be one of the driest, so you need to take a little more liquid to prepare it than for round-grain varieties. Water can be replaced with any vegetable broth.
STEP 2
Pour hot water over the rice and leave for 10-15 minutes. Then drain the water and rinse the rice thoroughly, as if rubbing it with your hands to remove as much starch as possible.
STEP 3
Drain the clean rice. The rice should turn noticeably white.
STEP 4
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry the washed rice in it. Stir the rice constantly. Do not make the fire maximum, but let it be a little more than medium. The grains of rice should absorb the oil and become translucent.
STEP 5
Transfer the fried rice to an ovenproof dish. Pour in salted hot water or vegetable broth. Level the rice so that it is distributed as evenly as possible throughout the pan.
STEP 6
Cover the pan filled with rice with a sheet of foil of suitable size.
STEP 7
Place the rice in an oven preheated to 180 degrees and simmer for about 30-40 minutes. Then taste the rice, it should become soft. If it is still hard, continue baking. Serve the cooked rice hot with a variety of gravies, sauces, curries and salads. Bon appetit!
