Cooking timeCooking time: 1 hr 20 mins
  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make quick sugar buns with dry yeast? Prepare your ingredients. Prepare the bun dough. How to make the dough? Sift flour into a bowl, add instant yeast, salt and sugar. Stir until all the dry ingredients are evenly distributed.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Pour in warm water (not higher than 40 degrees). Why is it important? In a warm environment, yeast activates well, in a hot environment it will die, and in a cold environment it simply does not work. Start mixing everything with a spoon.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

When the dough thickens, pour in vegetable oil and continue kneading. Be prepared that you may need more or less flour than indicated in the recipe. Focus not on the amount of flour, but on the desired consistency of the dough. I used 370 grams of flour for 150 ml of water - the dough is not tight, soft, but in the end it lags well behind the walls of the dish.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Transfer the dough to a work surface that has also been lightly oiled (no need to dust it with flour to avoid overclogging the dough). Knead the smooth, elastic dough for 7-10 minutes, form into a ball, cover with cling film and leave in a warm place to rise for 40 minutes. I usually knead the dough again after 10 minutes, when it becomes more pliable, and this way it fits even better.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 8 equal parts in a way convenient for you, roll each into little balls. You won't need flour either.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Take one bun and roll it with a rolling pin into a cake with a diameter of about 17 centimeters, or you can simply knead it with your hands. Lightly grease the flatbread with vegetable oil using a silicone brush and sprinkle with sugar: one tablespoon of sugar for one flatbread.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Roll the tortilla into a roll and pinch the edges.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Fix the ends of the roll together, forming a ring.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Place the ring on the side and make a cut with a knife, not reaching the end, as shown in the photo.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Turn the workpiece inside out to create a puff heart. Make buns using all the dough in the same way.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Place the preparations in a baking dish lined with parchment. I could fit 4 hearts at a time.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Bake the buns in the oven at 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes until browned. Next, bake the second batch. Cool the finished buns a little and serve - they are good warm. Bon appetit!

I often bake buns with dry yeast. The principle of preparing the dough is the same as yours. I always mix dry yeast with flour, and not with liquid ingredients like most people. This method makes the dough more airy (tested more than once). Only I also use sour milk instead of water and add margarine or butter. I add sunflower oil at the end of the kneading, my dough just squeaks in my hands and becomes airy before my eyes.

Thank you SO MUCH! I’m not a dough master, but I’ve been wanting to find my recipe for a VERY long time. I think I’ve found it.. The only caveat is that my buns took 30-35 minutes to bake. instead of 15-20 of yours at 180 degrees the same. Thank you!
