  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake quails in the oven? Prepare all ingredients. Wash the potatoes under running water with a brush, peel them. Wash the quail and dry with paper towels.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Place salt, ground pepper and ground bay leaf into a plate. It seems to me that such a simple set of spices is self-sufficient, but if you wish, you can add or remove spices to your taste.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Rub the quail carcasses thoroughly with spices, outside and inside. Place in the refrigerator for a couple of hours to marinate.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

When the quails are marinated, turn on the oven to preheat at 180 degrees (about 10-20 minutes before baking). Cut the potatoes into quarters, place in a baking dish lightly greased with vegetable oil with a high smoking point, salt and pepper to taste.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Place the birds on top of the potatoes; if desired, lightly grease the carcasses with mayonnaise. Place the pan in the oven for about an hour (depend on the features of your oven). During the process, you can turn the carcasses over once, and 5 minutes before the end of cooking (if in the oven), turn on the “grill” mode to form an appetizing crust))

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Place the finished quails with potatoes on plates. Serve with fresh vegetables or any salad of your choice.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

We invite the household members to the table and surprise them! The taste is simply delicious! Bon appetit!

I always wanted to try quail meat and finally I satisfied my curiosity. I bought three fairly large quails from farmers, weighing about 300 g each. I found a recipe for quail baked in the oven on the website, and decided to cook the birds using it. The carcasses were washed, dried and sprinkled with salt and a pinch of freshly ground black pepper. I put it in the refrigerator for an hour, covering it with cling film. At this time, I peeled the potatoes and carrots (added my own). I cut the vegetables with a curly knife, added paprika, spices for potatoes and mixed. I baked it in a porcelain dish, greased it with oil and laid out the vegetables. Placed quail on top. The carcasses were already cut along the ridge, so I turned them inside out and baked them in one position. Following the author's advice, I coated the quail with mayonnaise. Bake for 1 hour at 180°C for 10 minutes under the grill. I was afraid it would dry out, because the birds are small, so after 40 minutes I checked them for doneness. After puncture with a sharp knife, clear juice flowed out, but the top was still pale. I decided to bake it further). As a result, the quails were browned, but not much. The skin remained soft, not crispy. Quail meat is denser than store-bought chicken. It is tender, aromatic, very juicy! The taste is interesting and rich! Despite the fact that the quails are small, half the carcass was enough for one serving). They are very filling! And together with baked vegetables, it turned out to be a complete dinner. I recommend trying it, the dish is unusual and worthy of attention!

Oooh, I finally discovered quail 😍The recipe is the simplest, thank you very much 🙏🏻, but I like to get confused and add something of my own 😋. I rubbed the quail with salt, pepper and turmeric for a nice colored crust. They didn’t marinate for long, literally while I was peeling and preparing the potatoes for baking. After the refrigerator, I wanted to add a “gag.” I mixed sour cream with spices (turmeric, garlic, smoked paprika) and placed the quails on a baking sheet, already coated in sour cream sauce. During the cooking process, I turned them over to another side so that they browned evenly. God! How delicious it is🫠💔! In addition to the side dish, I added homemade pickles to the dinner 🤤 mmm... you can’t drag them away by the ears 😋😋 I tried them in a restaurant, but I didn’t realize that they were prepared so simply at home. Thank you very much for making such recipes available! I use it with pleasure and recommend it to my friends 🫶🏻

My family loves quail very much, and we always cook it for all holidays. I baked them in the oven, the quails turned out tasty, but a little dry. But we’ve never tried greasing them with mayonnaise, but now, thanks to your recipe, they turned out much juicier and tastier. Such quails are suitable not only with potatoes as a side dish, but also with rice and or spaghetti.
