STEP 1

In this recipe I want to tell you how to bake potato pies from yeast dough in the oven. Let's prepare all the products we need for the dough and potato filling.
STEP 2

First, knead the dough, to do this, sift the flour into a container, pour a glass of boiled, cooled water into it, add yeast (already activated) dissolved in a quarter glass of warm water, vegetable oil, salt and sugar. Mix the whole mass thoroughly and knead the dough. Make a bun out of it, put it in a bowl, sprinkle with flour, cover with a towel and put in a warm place for about 50-60 minutes.
STEP 3

In the meantime, we are preparing the filling; to do this, boil the potatoes in salted water and mash them. Fry finely chopped onion until soft and mix with puree.
STEP 4

Punch down the risen dough and transfer it to the work surface.
STEP 5

We form a rope of medium diameter from the dough and divide it into equal pieces with a knife. Make a ball from each piece.
STEP 6

Take one ball at a time and knead it with your hands into a thin cake. Place a tablespoon of filling in the middle and pinch the edges of the pie.
STEP 7

Place the pies on a baking sheet greased with vegetable oil, seam side down, at a short distance from each other, cover with a kitchen towel and let rise for 20 minutes. Brush the pies with beaten egg and place in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 35-40 minutes. During this time they will rise well, become golden brown and fully cooked. Place the hot pies on a tray, cover with a towel and let stand for a while.
