    STEP 1

How to make potato dumplings? Prepare your food. You can make mashed potatoes, or you can use ready-made ones. The approximate amount of starch is given; it may take more or less. This will depend on the consistency of the potato dough.

  10. STEP 10

Place a saucepan with plenty of water on the fire. Salt it. Bring to a boil. Throw the dumplings in there. It's best to cook a small amount of dumplings at a time to prevent them from sticking together. First they will sink to the bottom, then they will float up. As soon as the dumplings float to the surface, they are ready, remove them with a slotted spoon. Throw in the next portion. Boil all the dumplings this way.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Serve the finished dumplings immediately, with butter, sour cream, fried onions or tomato sauce. Bon appetit!

Thank you !!! You can also serve dumplings with onions fried in butter... This is how I make cottage cheese dumplings (without onions, of course): cottage cheese, egg, starch, salt and sugar to taste - the rest according to the recipe... Place a bowl of melted butter on the table butter, a bowl with sour cream, and for those who like it - with jam)

I made potato dumplings for the kids. I didn’t even know about these before, but now I’ll cook them with different additives. At first I couldn’t form the dumplings from the puree, but then I added a little flour to the board and the “dough” kneaded perfectly. You really need to cook it in small batches and remove it immediately after surfacing, then the shape will be preserved. By the way, the shape was preserved in the morning, which was very pleasing. The taste is excellent, most likely influenced by the taste of the potatoes themselves. I seasoned part with butter and the other part with sour cream. Potato dumplings are very good for breakfast.

Potato dumplings are a good recipe for an alternative to boring side dishes. I can’t say that I will cook it very often, but from time to time for sure. It's worth noting that when I cooked the first batch, I got distracted and overcooked the dumplings. In the boiling water they all began to crumble. Therefore, be vigilant; as soon as the dumplings float to the surface, immediately remove them with a slotted spoon. And they float up very quickly)

Tell me, please, are the indentations in the dumplings simply made for beauty, or do they have some other function?
