Pear jam with poppy seeds

Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

Prepare the ingredients. To make pear and poppy seed jam we will need: pears, sugar, poppy seeds and lemon juice.
STEP 2

Wash the pears, dry them, remove skins and seeds. The weight of pears in their pure form should be at least 500 g. Cut the prepared fruit into medium slices.
STEP 3

Place the pear slices in a saucepan or saucepan, add sugar and lemon juice.
STEP 4

Mix the pears with sugar and lemon juice and leave for 2 hours at room temperature so that they release the juice.
STEP 5

If desired, poppy seeds can be fried in a dry frying pan for about 3 minutes. Then it will become a little more fragrant. Also, so that the grains are not very hard and do not crunch on your teeth, you can grind the poppy seeds in a coffee grinder. I didn't do this because I like crispy poppy seeds. But in baking, I always try to grind poppy seeds - then it reveals its taste better.
STEP 6

When the pears release their juice after 2 hours, put the saucepan on the fire. Stirring occasionally, bring to a boil. Cook over low heat for about 20 minutes. Stir the jam periodically.
STEP 7

When the pear slices become almost transparent, add the fried poppy seeds.
STEP 8

Cook everything together for another 5-7 minutes.
STEP 9

Place the finished jam into pre-sterilized jars and close the lids. From the specified amount of ingredients you get 1 jar of 760 ml. Turn the jars upside down and wrap them in a towel. Leave in this position until completely cooled. Then turn the jam jars back over.
STEP 10

Store the jam in a cool, dark, dry place out of reach of direct sunlight. Bon appetit!
