Pangasius in a frying pan with fried onions
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to quickly and deliciously fry pangasius in a frying pan? To begin, remove the fish fillets from the freezer and leave them at room temperature until completely thawed. When the fish needs to be defrosted quickly and there is no time to wait, then as an option you can fill the pangasius with cold water, after defrosting, drain the water, and dry the fish fillets with paper napkins to get rid of excess moisture.
STEP 2
Cut the fillet into 2 parts. Sprinkle each piece with salt, ground pepper and garlic powder. Turn the pieces over and do the same on the other side. Leave the fish to marinate for literally five minutes, this will be quite enough. Meanwhile, peel the onion and rinse. I usually use red onions or shallots for the recipe, they look very beautiful and appetizing in the finished dish.
STEP 3
Heat vegetable oil in a thick-bottomed frying pan. Instead of vegetable oil, you can use butter if desired. Next, reduce the stove to moderately medium and lay out the pangasius pieces to fry. Cook on one side until browned (this will take about two minutes).
STEP 4
Then carefully, so as not to break, turn the pieces over and cook in the same way until appetizing golden brown sides appear.
STEP 5
Remove the finished pangasius to a plate. Add pre-cut onion into half rings or feathers into a frying pan with vegetable oil in which the fish was fried. Next, squeeze the juice of half a lemon and stir, cook for a few seconds until a characteristic onion aroma appears.
STEP 6
Place a teaspoon of fried onion on each piece of fish. Scoop some aromatic oil with lemon juice and pour it over the fish pieces. Serve with a wedge of lemon and fresh vegetables or herbs.
