Oatmeal jelly made from whole oats
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to cook oatmeal jelly from whole oats at home? To begin, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. For preparation, it is better to use filtered or bottled water that is neutral in taste. If you use tap water, keep in mind that it can give the dish an unpleasant characteristic taste. You can also cook this jelly with milk.
STEP 2
Sort the oats and rinse thoroughly. Cover the oats with clean water and leave overnight to swell. The swollen grain releases gluten well. If you don’t have time and you need to cook the jelly as quickly as possible, you can infuse the grain for at least 2-3 hours.
STEP 3
Drain the water, spread the grains on a towel and dry completely in the sun or in an oven heated to 40-50℃. But this is not necessary, especially if you grind the grain in a meat grinder.
STEP 4
Grind the oats in a meat grinder or blender.
STEP 5
Place the chopped oats in a saucepan, cover with clean drinking water and place over medium heat. Bring to a boil and cook, stirring, for about 3 minutes. Then remove the jelly from the heat and let it brew for 20-30 minutes. Read how to choose a cooking pan in a separate article at the end of the recipe.
STEP 6
Strain the jelly from the cake through a towel or gauze folded in 4 layers.
STEP 7
As it cools, the jelly will thicken.
STEP 8
Ready-made oatmeal jelly can be served warm or chilled. Pour oat jelly in husks into glasses and serve. Bon appetit!
