Moscow donuts

Airy, soft, so inviting. Just a dream! Moscow donuts, despite the absence of yeast in the dough, grow and quickly increase in size and turn from flat to voluminous. A fascinating sight! And they are so tasty that your hand reaches out for another delicacy.

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make Moscow donuts at home? Prepare all the necessary products. Remove the butter from the refrigerator in advance so that it is soft.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

In a deep container, combine the sifted flour, cinnamon and soda, stir and sift again. This will make the baked goods more airy. You will learn all the intricacies of using soda in baking by reading the article at the end of this recipe.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Break the egg into a separate bowl, add sugar and mash thoroughly with a fork.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Add soft butter and continue blending until smooth.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

    Pour in milk and stir.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Gradually add flour mixture. Knead a soft dough that can be rolled out. You may need less or more flour, check the consistency. Read about the properties of flour in the article below the steps.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

The finished dough should not stick to your hands or to the rolling pin when rolling out. If it sticks, add a little more flour.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Divide the dough into 2-3 parts for convenience. Dust your work surface with flour and roll out each piece of dough to 0.5 cm thick. Using a glass or cookie cutter, cut out circles from the dough. Use a smaller notch to make a hole in the middle of each circle. You will get rings. Collect the remaining dough, roll it out and cut out the blanks. You can use a small notch to make small circles from the leftovers; when frying, they will become round, like balls.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Heat the oil in a cauldron or deep frying pan. Place the rings there in portions and fry on both sides until golden brown. It’s better to immediately turn up the heat and fry one side of the donut on it, and then turn it down and fry the other. This is how the donuts become convex and voluminous very quickly. Read how to choose a frying pan and oil in separate articles at the end of the recipe.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Place donuts in portions on a plate covered with a napkin to absorb excess fat.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

This is what the inside of the donuts look like. While the donuts are still warm, sprinkle with powdered sugar through a strainer. Invite everyone to drink tea or coffee. Bon appetit!

I made Moscow donuts to complement breakfast. My egg was large, category CO, so I needed 250 grams of flour. Sugar added a tablespoon. The dough is dense, but soft and elastic. I cut out the blanks with a mill with a diameter of 7.5 cm, and made a hole inside with my fingers. I got 9 donuts. I fried them for a minute on each side. The donuts turned out fluffy and tasty. Of course, they are not as porous inside as yeast donuts, but for quick baking they are an excellent result. Before serving, I sprinkled the donuts with powdered sugar. Thank you very much for the recipe!

Ira donuts with a cup of tea and with her friends....a dream and that’s all. I definitely wouldn’t be able to resist at a party, but since childhood I’ve been afraid of boiling oil. So I’ll eat it with my eyes...But it’s still delicious!!!!
