STEP 1

How to cook millet porridge with pumpkin in a saucepan on the stove? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. To prepare porridge, you can use pumpkin, either fresh or frozen. Choose millet that is yellow and pure, without impurities. Milk can be of any fat content. The amount of sugar can be slightly adjusted in one direction or another to suit your taste.
STEP 2

Place the millet in a dry frying pan and place on the fire. Heat over medium heat for 4-5 minutes. This must be done to remove bitterness from the cereal.
STEP 3

Separately, pour water into a saucepan, put on fire and bring to a boil. As soon as the water boils, add the prepared millet to it. Stir. Cook over low heat until the millet absorbs all the water. This usually takes 7-10 minutes.
STEP 4

Peel fresh pumpkin and cut into cubes. Immediately place the frozen one in a ladle. Add sugar and a couple of tablespoons of water to the pumpkin. Heat the pumpkin, stirring occasionally.

Boil the pumpkin for 8-10 minutes. She will become softer.
STEP 6

When the millet has absorbed the water, add hot milk to the pan. You can cook porridge with milk and water in different proportions, only with milk and only with water, to your taste. But it turns out much tastier with milk.
STEP 7

Add pumpkin. Continue cooking for another 20 minutes. During this time, the millet will significantly increase in size and become soft.
STEP 8

Gradually the porridge becomes thicker and the milk is absorbed into the millet. Pumpkin adds sweetness and flavor to the porridge. To obtain a thinner consistency, you can add a little more milk than indicated in the recipe.
STEP 9

Simple millet porridge with pumpkin is ready! Divide the porridge into bowls and serve hot. You can add a piece of butter or fresh berries. Bon appetit!
