Meat with eggplant and potatoes
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make meat with eggplant and potatoes? To prepare this dish you will need a large composition of ingredients, the main ones are potatoes, meat, eggplants, onions, additionally take flavoring ingredients - soy sauce, mustard, ground black pepper, herbs if desired, salt, and binders - sour cream and cheese. That's all!
STEP 2
First, take care of the meat: cut it into pieces and marinate in a mixture of soy sauce, mustard, ground black pepper, sunflower oil and any dry spices. Leave to marinate while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.
STEP 3
Eggplant can be cut into slices and placed raw in a dish. But in order for the eggplants to become “mushrooms” (my husband doesn’t like eggplants), I do a deceptive maneuver: I cut them into small cubes and fry them in a frying pan with butter.
STEP 4
Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add the eggplants, stirring occasionally to ensure even frying.
STEP 5
The eggplants will shrink significantly in size and taste very similar to regular fried mushrooms. These are the ones we will add to the dish, and this will make the taste of the whole dish more perfect.
STEP 6
I cut the potatoes into cubes and boil them in the microwave - this will significantly reduce the baking time of the entire dish, and the potatoes will become reliably soft.
STEP 7
Now you need to take a baking dish, grease it with oil and lay out a layer of coarsely chopped onions. Place the marinated meat tightly on it.
STEP 8
Cover with a layer of prepared potatoes. Lightly add salt and pepper.
STEP 9
And place the fried eggplants on top.
STEP 10
Cover the top layer with a thick layer of sour cream.
STEP 11
Grate any hard cheese on a coarse grater, I used Russian cheese.
STEP 12
Place a layer of cheese on top of the sour cream - it will prevent it from becoming a hard crust, so when baking, the cheese will melt and slightly flow into the layers along with the sour cream. Cover the pan with a suitable fireproof lid or cover with foil.
STEP 13
Place in an oven preheated to 180-190 degrees for 40-50 minutes. The times are approximate, check your oven. Read about the operation of ovens in a separate article. Remove the finished dish and serve it on the table, preferably in the same form.
